Hampton Bay Redington IV Ceiling Fan
The Hampton Bay Redington IV 52 inch ceiling fan is a traditional style ceiling fan that comes in a white finish along with 5 reversible bleached oak/white blades.
This Hampton Bay ceiling fan model seems to be discontinued because it was a hard nut to crack to find information about this unit.
History of the Redington 52” Ceiling Fan
In 1990, Home Depot developed The Redington brand it ceiling fan category was quite unique in comparison with Redington IV. It seems that Home Depot recycles their ceiling fan units without adding a specific style to them.
The very first Hampton Bay Redington fan has a similar looks as now Redington IV ceiling has, conceived in 1996.
This was the original model in this series of ceiling fans. In the beginning, the model was categorized as an ultra-modern look with the addition of an integrated 4-light kit and a convenient handheld remote control unit.
However, not all the finishes designed were easily stocked at the local stores.
When it was produced in abundance, it had the best combination of motor and blade pitch of any ceiling fan that is designed with Hampton Bay logo. It had a powerful motor 172mm X 20mm that has a blade pitch of 14º and Chien Luen Industries made it.
They were making the Hampton Bay Redington II 52 inch Ceiling Fan from 1999.
The model of the Redington II fan was manufactured until mid-2003, when it was shifted to the newer version that is, Redington III Fan.
This Redington III was similar to the Redington II, however, it was less costly than the previous one.
In the early 2005, Hampton Bay came up with the next model, Redington IV ceiling fan, offering a pull chain feature which was not in Redington I, II and III versions as they had remotes, however, they still have the Redington III model with the remote.
Until 2008 Home Depot was still keeping the III and IV versions. At times the IV model was spelt as Redington 4 Ceiling fan.
Redington I Ceiling Fan is not available. In the early 1990, the Redington name was launched. The very first model of Redington Trademark was a polished brass and rosewood ceiling fan containing a blade style arms of flying “V”.
The Hampton Bay Redington II was thought to be the first Redington in the sequence of fans to provide the same style as the flying “V” blade arms.
‘Air Cool’ revised the Redington II and the Redington III models and ‘King Of Fans’ came up with the Redington IV models.

Review of the Redington IV Ceiling Fan
The 52″ Hampton Bay Redington IV fan was in a few different finishes but we liked the brushed steel finish.
Until 2013, these models and finishes were sold in Canada Home Depot stores, however in 2010, this fan was discontinued in the United States.
The ceiling fan comes with a handy remote control unit and pull chains to control the speed and turning on/off the lights.
What we liked about the Redington IV is its Quick Connect System. Due to this feature, the installation of blades made easy without using the screws but the bad part was that it was more costly.
Overall, in my opinion, this Hampton bay model was pretty good, although there were a lot of better options to explore in ceiling fans.
The Redington IV contains 4 Candelabra lightbulbs which can provide ample amount of illumination.
The 3- speed motor works at High speed at (205 RPM), Medium speed at (180 RPM) and Low Speed at (90 RPM).
At High speed, the Redington IV moves a good amount of air and remains stable when it moves, which is unique from some other Redington models.
Pros: The look is amazing. Its a mixture of the 90’s contemporary and modern 2000 style with the spotlights. Additionally, it is pretty versatile due to its reversible blades with one side plain gloss black and the other side Rosewood. My personal preference is the look of Rosewood.
Another feature to consider is that it can be used as a flush mount or with a downrod. And the installation of Redington IV can also be possible with or without light kit.
The metal components are of good quality and the fan generates a good amount of airflow. It is quiet with its wobble-free operation, preventing a lot of motor noise.
Cons: The only con we saw is that the brushed steel finish was easy to scratch.
To conclude, The Hampton Bay Redington IV 52 inch ceiling fan is one of the better models from Hampton Bay brand.
Our rating for this unit is total of 3.5 Stars out of 5 Stars.
